Answering this short questionnaire about how you think, communicate and experience the world can help you see whether the traits you recognise in yourself are linked to autism. Our free autism screening test takes around five minutes and is completely confidential. It uses the AQ-10, a validated screener developed by the Autism Research Centre and recommended by NICE, so the questions you answer are the same ones clinicians use to decide whether a full assessment is the right next step.
A screening test cannot diagnose autism on its own, and a high or low score doesn't tell the whole story — autism presents differently in every person, and many autistic adults have spent a lifetime masking their traits. What the test does give you is a clear, personalised result and a sensible direction. If your score suggests autistic traits, our clinical team can guide you through a comprehensive autism assessment carried out to gold-standard diagnostic criteria.
Yes. Our online autism screening test is completely free and takes around five minutes. It's based on the AQ-10 and gives you a personalised score with no obligation to book anything further.
No, and any tool that claims to is misleading you. The AQ-10 is a screening questionnaire, not a diagnostic instrument. It indicates whether your traits warrant a full assessment. A formal autism diagnosis can only be made by a qualified clinician through a comprehensive assessment.
We use the AQ-10 (Autism Spectrum Quotient, 10 item), developed by the Autism Research Centre at the University of Cambridge and recommended by NICE for adults. Its ten statements cover social skills, communication, attention to detail, attention switching and imagination.
You'll see your score straight away, with a plain-English explanation of what it means. If autistic traits are indicated, a score of 6 or more on the AQ-10, we'll explain how a full private autism assessment works and how to book one. There's no pressure to proceed.
The AQ-10 is a well-validated screener and is the tool NICE recommends to decide whether someone should be referred for a full autism assessment. Like any screening test it isn't perfect. Some autistic people, especially those who mask, may score below the threshold, which is why your own experience matters and a clinical assessment is the only way to confirm a diagnosis.
They're separate neurodevelopmental conditions that often overlap. Autism primarily affects social communication, sensory processing and a need for routine; ADHD primarily affects attention, impulsivity and activity levels. Many people have both. If you're unsure which fits, our clinicians can assess for both and advise on the right pathway.
A full private autism assessment starts from £1,395. The exact cost depends on whether the assessment is for an adult or a child and what's included. We'll always be clear about pricing before you commit.
Yes. We provide autism assessments for adults, young people and children, using age-appropriate gold-standard tools. For children, the assessment includes a developmental history interview with a parent or carer (ADI-R) and a structured observation (ADOS-2)
