Please note: online ADHD tests cannot diagnose ADHD. While many people use these tools to test ADHD symptoms, results from this screening should not be used to self-diagnose, replace a comprehensive clinical assessment, or guide a treatment plan. A formal ADHD diagnosis can only be made by a qualified healthcare professional following a complete evaluation.

Step 1 of 3

Does your child find it difficult to finish a task or homework at home or at school?
Does your child find it difficult to organise themselves for school and other activities?
Does your child lose or misplace personal belongings at home or school?
Does your child often fidget or squirm and find it difficult to sit still?
Would you describe your child as being “always on the go” and always feel compelled to do things as if he or she is driven by a “motor”
Does your child find it hard to remain focused in group settings?

The 3 Main Symptoms of Adult ADHD

ADHD looks different in every adult. Our quiz screens for symptoms across all three recognised presentations — based on the DSM-5 criteria used by our clinicians.
🧠

Inattentive Presentation

The "quiet" form — often missed, especially in women.
  • Difficulty focusing on detail
  • Starting lots of things, finishing few
  • Losing track of time or items
  • Mental overload & overwhelm
  • Zoning out mid-conversation

Hyperactive-Impulsive

Physical or mental restlessness that rarely switches off.
  • Inner restlessness or fidgeting
  • Interrupting or over-talking
  • Impulse spending or decisions
  • Difficulty waiting your turn
  • Always "on the go"
🔀

Combined Presentation

The most common type — features of both, to varying degrees.
  • Chronic procrastination
  • Emotional dysregulation
  • Rejection sensitivity
  • Sleep difficulties
  • Burnout cycles

ADHD Assessments FAQs

Yes — completely free, with no credit card required. You'll receive your personalised results by email in under 2 minutes.

No. This is a validated screening tool. It indicates whether ADHD is likely and whether a full assessment is warranted. Only a qualified Consultant Psychiatrist can formally diagnose ADHD after a full clinical interview.

Our quiz is based on the Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (DSM5). It's the screening tool recommended by NICE and used widely across the NHS.

You'll see your score and what it means on the results page immediately. You'll also receive a summary by email. If your results suggest ADHD is likely, you can book a full clinical assessment with one of our Consultant Psychiatrists.

The DSM-5 is considered the global clinical standard for diagnosing mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions, including ADHD. When used by a qualified clinician as part of a full assessment, it is highly effective for identifying symptoms, patterns of behaviour, and functional impairment.

However, the DSM-5 is not a standalone test or diagnosis tool. Accuracy depends on how thoroughly the criteria are applied alongside clinical interviews, medical history, behavioural observations, and supporting evidence such as school reports or family feedback. ADHD symptoms can also overlap with anxiety, autism, trauma, sleep disorders, and other conditions, which is why comprehensive assessment is essential.

At The ADHD Centre, clinicians use DSM-5 criteria as part of a broader evidence-based diagnostic process to ensure assessments are accurate, personalised, and clinically robust.

Adult ADHD assessments at The ADHD Centre start from £695. This includes a 60–90-minute consultation, a formal diagnosis where clinically indicated, and a written report. See our full pricing page.

Never. Your quiz responses are confidential.
