Dr Femi Balogun is a London based experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist on the GMC specialist register. He trained at the renowned Maudsley Hospital and specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of neurodevelopmental disorders; ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorders and associated co-morbidities.

He also has special interest in stress related mental health problems in children and adolescents including PTSD and complex trauma. He has experience of in-patient and out-patient care and is a talented medical educator and communicator. He has authored several age-appropriate patient information psychoeducation leaflets and research papers, and is recognized for his interpersonal warm, attention to detail and the high quality of care he provides to his patients. Femi is a professor of psychiatry at New Anglia University, an associate of the General Medical Council, an honorary senior clinical lecturer at King’s College London and a director of medical education within the NHS. Dr Balogun also holds the diploma in Paediatrics of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

Dr Balogun was so calm
Dr Balogun was so calm, understanding and sensitive during the assessment. He instantly put both myself and my son at ease and we both remarked on how nice he was after the meeting.
He was very thorough but also could see when my son may have lost focus and gently brought him back into the conversation. A different experience to what he is used to in a school environment. He was able to open up because he felt heard.

Met Dr Femi Balogun this week for an ADHD assessment for my 5 year old boy. He immediately put us at ease, explained how the 2 hours would go, and introduced himself to my son and set him at ease too.
The assessment was thorough and discussed next steps at the end. He is too young for medication which is recommended so will begin those steps when he turns 6.
I wanted to update that our local NHS community paediatricians accepted the diagnosis from Dr Balogun without hesitation and have now added my son to the NHS waiting list for a nurse led medication review as soon as he turns 6.
