About Dr. Ibtihal Elshikh

Dr Elshikh has extensive experience in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of mental health and neurodevelopmental conditions affecting children and young people. She has particular expertise in ADHD and provides comprehensive, evidence-based assessments that include developmental history, clinical interviews and information from parents, schools and other professionals where appropriate. She is trained in the Young DIVA assessment tool and follows NICE guidelines to ensure accurate diagnosis and personalised recommendations.

Alongside ADHD, Dr Elshikh has significant experience supporting children and young people with anxiety disorders, depression, emotional and behavioural difficulties, self-harm and complex mental health presentations. She is committed to delivering compassionate, family-centred care, working collaboratively with young people and their families to achieve the best possible outcomes.

Throughout her career, Dr Elshikh has held senior clinical leadership roles within NHS CAMHS services and remains actively involved in clinical governance, teaching, supervision and service development, ensuring the highest standards of patient care.

Dr Elshikh is Section 12 approved under the Mental Health Act and an Approved Clinician, reflecting her senior expertise in the assessment and management of complex psychiatric conditions. Her qualifications include MBBS, MRCPsych, a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, an MSc in Transcultural Mental Healthcare from Queen Mary University of London, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Patient Safety from Imperial College London.
